Getting used to something called TURNOVER

No, not the apple kind...

In life, people come and go but man, is it hard to get used to hearing about someone leaving. Yeah, I don't know if it's as hard as it should be but it always makes me re-evaluate and think about myself and ask those questions like "what am I doing?" and "where am I going?" and "what does this all mean?"

One of my coworkers, after six years at Deloitte but started off in accounting, has decided to end her journey as an "actuary". She has a CPA but has just had enough with those actuarial exams and has decided to go back to her roots into accounting consulting.

Maybe it's the smartest thing she's ever done no matter how hard it is.

In my opinion, taking the risk to change careers is probably the hardest thing. You've worked all your life leading up to some point and you find out it's NOT RIGHT FOR YOU! It's almost like your entire belief system falls apart a little bit before you start thinking straight again or something. Is it wasted years? Not committed enough or determined to finish those exams? Or is it smart to cut your losses? Or do we just do all the exams to have something to show for? ugh... I don't know I don't know I don't know.

Good luck Kathleen!

At least I did the right major in school :P
You scored as Mathematics. You should be a Math major! Like Pythagoras, you are analytical, rational, and when are always ready to tackle the problem head-on!

So I tried this quiz (results here) and it looks like I'm 100% engineer, mathematician, philosopher and sociologist. I guess I could also consider switching careers.

While I haven't changed my majors, I have switched teams a few times already at Microsoft, and it takes a bit of bravery to move from something known to something unknown and new.

Not philosopher -- psychology I think.
